A zesty and velvety Sweet & Sour Chicken, perfect to be paired with rice.

Sweet and Sour Sauce

4 tbsp ketchup

6 tbsp mirin or 3 tbsp of sugar

1 dash salt

2 tbsp lime

1 tsp all purpose flour or corn flour

80 ml water
Chicken Marinate

300 grams chicken fillet cubes
-
2 tbsp shaoxing wine
-
1 dash salt
-
2 dash black pepper
-
1 egg
-
3 tbsp all purpose flour or all purpose flour
Side Ingredients

2 bell peppers
-
1/2 onion
-
4 cloves garlic
Marinate Chicken
Marinate the protein with 2 tablespoons of shaoxing wine (rice wine).
Sprinkle 2 dashes of salt.
Sprinkle 2 dashes of black pepper.
Add an egg to the marinate.
Add two tablespoons of all purpose flour or corn flour.
Mix everything evenly and marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Sweet & Sour Chicken Cooking Process
Heat up a frying pan with oil in high heat.
Include chicken cubes and stir fry each side for 4 minutes. 8 minutes in total.
Set aside the chicken for use later.
Set the same pan in high heat and stir fry onion for one minute.
Add in garlic and stir fry with the onion for one minute.
Add in bell peppers and stir fry everything together for 3 minutes.
Set the cooking pan in low heat, add the prepared sauce, including flour and water mix. Stir fry for 30 seconds.
Add protein back to the pan and stir fry evenly for one minute.
Serve with a plate of warm rice.
